- Iconic to Turks and Caicos is the Conch (pronounced "conk"), a type of mollusc found in the islands which features an exquisite spiral shaped shell with a glossy pink interior. This humble sea snail is featured on the Turks and Caicos national flag and postage stamps. A unique souvenir is one of Standford Handfield’s necklaces, bowls, trivets or dishes made from the colourful conch shell. These treasures can be found at Anna’s Art Gallery located at the Saltmills Plaza on Grace Bay Road.
- A locally made hat is a special find. The artisans of the Middle Caicos Co-Op create hats using local palm fronds and fanner grass. You can find them at Department of Culture at Turtle Cove, Big Blue Unlimited, Departure Lounge at Provo Air Center, and the Wholesale Depot at The Marketplace. Look for the special tag showing the silhouette of a side profile of a woman with headwrap and the words “Handmade Turks and Caicos Islands” marked on it.
