Romantic Restaurants on Grace Bay Beach
Valentine’s Day is approaching, and romantic restaurants on Grace Bay Beach provide an idyllic setting, inspired cuisine and incomparable experiences to celebrate love.
How Will You Express Your Love this Valentine's Day?
While there are different stories behind the saint for which it is named, Valentine’s Day is said to be rooted in Roman history, specifically, the festival Lupercalia which was held as way to purify and release health and fertility. Today the special occasion is marked around the world as a day to celebrate love.
Candy and flowers are popular gifts, but some sweethearts offer an “experience gift”. This is something not held in the hand but experienced like a concert, a show, or an activity...perhaps on a white sand beach on a peaceful Caribbean Island... Couples visiting the Turks and Caicos can share the experience gift of snorkeling. With summer water temperatures between 82 to 84 degrees (28-29 Celsius) and lovely 74 to 78 degrees (23-26 Celsius) in the winter, it’s ideal conditions for an underwater adventure. Complimentary use of non-motorized watersports equipment is included at The Palms. Masks, fins and snorkel gear, as well as SUP boards, kayaks and Hobie Cats, are available for your enjoyment.
Sites like Smith’s Reef or Coral Gardens provide superb visibility and a variety of aquatic life. Sites such as Malcolm Road Beach or Northwest Point offer challenge to more experienced snorkelers. The islands offer a spectacular backdrop of super soft white sand stretching for miles, crystal blue water and a welcoming natural serenity.

Chocolate That Does Plenty of Good!
Where was the first box of chocolates made? (a) California (b) on set for the movie “Forrest Gump” (c) Switzerland or (d) EnglandIt’s (d) England. Richard Cadbury, son of chocolate manufacturer John Cadbury, came up with the idea of a heart- shaped box of chocolates in 1861. The product was an instant success.
Today, chocolate continues to be a mainstay on the Valentine's Day menu. Whether given as a gift or served up in an entree or dessert, chocolate enhances any occasion. Couples will enjoy all things chocolate at the Chocolate Lovers’ Showcase held February 3, 2018 at The Palms. This popular event from 8:00 to 10:00 pm features savoury and sweet chocolate offerings made by the island’s best chefs. And, the event is made even sweeter because proceeds benefit the island Salvation Army hot meal program for children on Providenciales.
