Caribbean Food & Wine Festival 2018: Premiere Culinary Event Returns to Provo
The Palms Turks and Caicos is proud to help host one of the Caribbean's top culinary events of the year.
An annual event, the Caribbean Food and Wine Festival is held in the first week of November every year. This three-day, world-class event brings together celebrity chefs, cutting-edge cuisine and truly noteworthy wines and spirits to Providenciales. The festival is hosted at different resorts along Grace Bay Beach and is an ideal time of the year to visit Turks and Caicos.
This year, the Palms Resort will once again be a stop on the Gourmet Safari on Saturday, November 3.
An Emerging Culinary Culture on Providenciales
The island of Providenciales in particular offers everything from sushi and high-end fusion cuisine to Indian and Chinese food. Of course, everyone who travels to the Turks and Caicos will want to eat seafood, including local delicacies such as mahi mahi, tuna, rock lobster and the iconic conch.
However, thanks a vibrant restaurant scene that is unique in all of the Caribbean, Providenciales also attracts visitors who want to experience truly international, gourmet cuisine. The perfect introduction to Turks and Caicos culinary culture is the Caribbean Food & Wine Festival.
Celebrity Chefs, Food & Wine Tasting in Turks and Caicos
The culinary festival runs from November 1st to November 4th, 2018, and features celebrity chefs, renowned winemakers, Iron Chef stars and more! It kicked off on with a welcome Dinner and 5-course meal.
After that, festival-goers travelled all over Providenciales on a culinary adventure “Gourmet Safari.” The festival wound up on the third day with a Island Food Fair and Food & Wine tasting event fit for both kids and adults.
Notable celebrity chef Chris LeFevre helped craft the 3-day festival. Other notable participants included Leah Cohen, Hans Peter Haider, as well as vintners from Benzinger Family Winery, Cuvaison Estate, Weingut Salzl Seewinkelhof and Duck Pond Cellars & Desert Wind Winery.
